Accredited Certification Bodies for Québec (Organic Designation)

The following certification bodies are accredited by the CARTV Board according to the criteria of ISO/IEC Guide 65 and others requirements, to certify organic agricultural and food products in the Province of Quebec. They are also accredited to control the supply chain of certified organic products when it is required in the approved Specification Reference Manual.

All these bodies can certify products in Quebec according to the following scope:

1. Certification requirements included in the CARTV approved Specification Reference Manual for the reserved designation “Organic”, based on:
   • Canadian Organic Production Systems Standards: General Principles and Management Standards CAN/CGSB 32.310 and Permitted Substances Lists CAN/CGSB 32.311
2. Certification requirements included in the Canadian Organic Regime:

   • Canadian Organic Production Systems Standards: General Principles and Management Standards CAN/CGSB 32.310 and Permitted Substances Lists CAN/CGSB 32.311

   • Canada/USA Organic Equivalency Arrangement  (June 17, 2009)

   • Canada/EU Organic Equivalency Arrangement  (June 20, 2011)

The following list mentions the Head Office of each accredited certification body.  In order to have more details, we suggest you to verify their respective Website and to contact them.

In accordance with the Regulation in force, only certification bodies accredited by CARTV can issue certificates of conformity or attestations for organic products certified in Quebec. These products can be sold in the province of Quebec and, in addition, other Canadian provinces and foreign countries.
